It's official.
Some of you already know and the rest of you will know once you are finished reading this.
We're moving. To Guatemala. To work in an orphanage.
Yes, we're very excited. And yes, there are definitely feelings of trepidation mixed in with the excitement.
Manos de Compasion (Hands of Compassion) is a family style orphanage with about 20 children at the moment. Our job duties will include cooking, cleaning, teaching, maintenance (Josh), and helping to raise these precious kiddos. With the baby count at 6, I'm sure we also will spend plenty of time changing diapers. It will definitely hold many new experiences and adventures, of that I am positive. I may also be able to use my nursing experience in a community clinic...not sure how all that will play out, but we shall see!
Lord willing, we will fly South the end of April. So at the moment, we're working on selling the vehicles and making sure our paperwork is getting in order. Renew this. Notarize that. Seal this. Send here. You get the drift. But it's all very exciting to see how God has speedily opened doors for us and we look forward to seeing how He will work in the future.
Random info: There is Internet. (limited, but still.) Search Manos de Compasion on Facebook if you want to see pictures and find more info about the orphanage. If you look at a map of Guatemala, find Lake Atitlan in the southwest-ish corner. That's the general area where we'll be. We will be there at least two years. That's all I can think of at the moment.
